The CCMA responds to Talk Talk closure by initiating a special “Jobs Fair” for Talk Talk employees with over 150 vacancies in the Sector
Wednesday 14th September – Waterford
Following the disappointing announcement last Wednesday 7th September by Talk Talk to close their contact centre in Waterford with the loss of 575 jobs, the Contact Centre Management Association (CCMA) Ireland is responding to the crisis by helping the staff of Talk Talk to secure new employment within the Irish contact centre industry.
Since last week, the CCMA has been in contact with our membership base in an effort to pull together any current and suitable vacancies for the Talk Talk employees.
Unsurprisingly, our members have responded fantastically well and tomorrow (Wednesday) more than 10 CCMA member companies will participate in a special jobs initiative in the Talk Talk contact centre in Waterford. The range of vacancies includes customer service and sales executives, team managers and specialist roles in the area of project management and work force planning.
Companies attending and participating in the fair include:
- Intellicom
- O2
- SouthWestern
- UPC
- Rigney Dolphin and
- VoxPro
Other CCMA member companies who have identified vacancies possibly suitable for Talk Talk staff include Airtricity, Eircom, Dell, FEXCO, Gift Voucher Shop, Paddypower.com, Touchbase Technology, Vodafone and Xerox.
Commenting on this initiative Maurice Whelan, Chairperson CCMA Ireland, said that “As an industry sector we already work closely in supporting each other across a range of areas including benchmarking and sharing best practice. We are delighted that so many of our member companies have rallied to help the Talk Talk employees in securing new employment if possible. The Irish contact centre industry is strong and growing and we will work in whatever way we can to help the Talk Talk employees”.
